(PT) A guitarra, a métrica, a rima e o canto; os mesmos dispositivos composicionais com que Alexandre Rendeiro vem construindo o seu projecto anglo-saxónico Alek Rein, desta vez dedicados a celebrar esta margem do Atlântico e submetidos à gramática e ao vocabulário do quotidiano lisboeta. Nesta inédita colecção de canções, a contemporaneidade do discurso é interrompida por reminiscências do PREC ou dos velhos anarquistas da CGT, mas o nome Oriano é usado aqui como ortónimo em oposição ao carácter heteronímico do songwriter de Mirror Lane. Como tal, trejeitos em honra dos cantautores de resistência dos anos 1970 não devem ser vistos como sinais de soberba artística; são antes meras expressões das vontades da sua geração, a mesma que preenche os recibos verdes que dão o compasso à sua vida precária enquanto sonha com a Comuna de Arroios e a sociedade de autogestão generalizada.

(ENG) Guitar, meter, rhyme, and song; the same compositional devices with which Alexandre Rendeiro has been building upon his Anglo-Saxon project Alek Rein, now deployed to celebrate this side of the Atlantic and submitted to the grammar and vocabulary of Lisbon’s daily life. In this previously unpublished pair of songs, his discourse’s contemporaneity gets interrupted by reminiscences of the Ongoing Revolutionary Process (PREC) and of the old CGT anarchists; however, the name Oriano is used here as an orthonym, in opposition to the heteronymous character of the author of Mirror Lane. With this being said, grimaces in honor of the protest singers of the 1970s should not be seen as signs of artistic pretension; they are rather mere expressions of his generation’s aspirations, the same one that fills in the precarious work invoices that give compass to their slippery lives while at the same time dreaming of the Arroios Commune and the Society of Total Self Management.
