As Raymond Williams says, the "idea of nature" contains an extraordinary amount of human history... what matters in (the word nature) is not the proper meaning but the history and complexity of meanings.

IDEA OF NATURE is an intimate and emotional introspection into the very popular cosmological narratives that had shaped our way of seeing during adolescence: the mystical/metaphysical vision of the secular anthropocentric cosmological narratives perpetuated by the dominant power structures; and the scientific based naturalistic cosmology made known to us through educational programmes, such as the nature films of the 60s and 70s.

The anthropocentric vision of an idyllic nature, as something presupposed and inexhaustible, led us to the current state of ecological anxiety. Paradoxically, this situation has also given way to the conception of a fictional nature, a nature seen as a product of human thought. The references to the mysterious nature has thus entered the popular imagination through the new industry of tourism and the educational films on nature, largely produced for cinema and television, to which the new sounds and atmospheres of Library Music gave an invaluable contribute.

But if Library Music was an unavoidable influence of this album, also were the echoes of the ethereal 4AD's atmospheres and Postmodernist Minimalism, the incursions on Ambient Music by Brian Eno in the late 70’s or the eeriness of the existentialist Tarkovsky's Solaris.
